How did this patient hear about Nashville Center? Recommendation from Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital

Details of Experience:
Sherry was admitted to Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital after a car accident. She spent four days thereafter discovering she broke multiple ribs and had an abdominal hematoma. After the initial recovery, she was recommended to Nashville Center for Rehabilitation and Healing.

After getting to her room, she met her nursing team and went through an initial assessment. Sherry then met the therapy team, who completed their evaluation. The patient mentioned that she was very eager to go home and was ready for hard work. Together, Sherry and the therapists formed a list of goals including reducing rib pain during movement and regaining stability to return to a full prior level of function. Sherry was ready to get started and therapy mentioned that she was very motivated.

Sherry worked diligently alongside her physical therapists, Bryan and Warren, using neuromuscular reeducation, including static and dynamic balance training to facilitate increased proximal stability to improve resumption of functional mobility tasks without limiting impairments. Sherry noticed that she was getting stronger and all her hard work was paying off!

Sherry is eager to get back to her apartment and have her independence again. As discharge is approaching, Sherry will continue to work hard in therapy to get all better. She very much enjoyed her time here and can’t believe that only a few weeks ago it hurt to move an inch but now she can sit up and walk with ease.

Sherry is thankful to Nashville Center and her therapy team for helping her get to her prior level of function. With continued work, she will be there in no time and will be headed home! Nashville Center is beyond happy for Sherry and wishes her a continued recovery!
