Details of Experience:
On a normal day, Tracy was attempting to cross the street when she was suddenly struck by a car. Tracy recalled getting knocked to the ground by this incident, then losing consciousness. She was immediately taken to Skyline Medical Center, where she underwent imaging to evaluate the extent of her injuries. After Tracy was examined, she was found to have fractures to her right femur, tibia, and fibula, along with her right wrist. After further examination, she was found to have bilateral tibial plateau fractures. Tracy began surgeries on August 7th, 2020 for her injuries, and after each successful surgery, she was discharged to our skilled nursing facility to begin therapy.

Tracy was admitted to Nashville Center on August 13, 2020, where she was greeted by wonderful staff members to help get her settled into the community. Before admission Tracy was completely independent, working and performing normal day-to-day activities. Regardless of the pain and the road ahead, Tracy was determined to regain her strength and independence and return home!

During Tracy’s assessment with the therapy team, she was completely non-weight bearing on both of her legs and in a significant amount of pain. Nashville Center’s wonderful therapy team began working with Tracy several days a week to help Tracy achieve her goals. Although she was non-weight bearing, she was determined. She pushed herself to do as much as she could outside of therapy sessions to help ensure her quick return to home.

Tracy came in not able to walk due to her injuries, but she made constant progress throughout her stay at Nashville Center. Tracy went from being unable to ambulate due to weight-bearing restrictions to being able to go an unlimited distance with the use of a rollator. Her mobility score raised from 11/45 upon her arrival, to 42/45 upon discharge. The therapy team not only helped her gain her mobility back, but they helped with regaining her independence back and teaching safety techniques to practice while at home.

Nashville Center would like to thank Tracy for choosing their community for her healing process. They were so glad to be able to help her throughout her journey and watch her strength grow so she could return to everyday life.

Nashville Center wishes Tracy nothing but the best, and are so glad they were able to get to know Tracy throughout her recovery!
